Koala is a school that caters to wonderful, happy children. They have xperience with chilren with add/adhd, Autistic Spectrun disorders, Juvenile Diabetes, epilepsy, and physical handicaps such as blindness. In addition there are super smart, gifted kids and kids that just need a small quiet work environment. The school lets them work at their own pace using one-on-one techniques. For these children, Koala has made a tremendous difference in their self esteem. One of he teachers there, Miss Darla is incredible. Don't you wish you could go back to kindergarten? Miss Darla is that kind of teacher-gentle when needed and tough when necessary. The rest of the staff has always been professional and always available for any parent. Miss Arlene and Miss Lilly are there to help any student and are fiercely loyal to the rest of the school. Please don't let the "reviews" of an obnoxious kid make your descion for you. Please go check them out.

I am appalled by the recent reviews of this school. My son has been attending this school for five years and I have NEVER had a problem; in fact, my son's social and scholastic skills have improved by 100% and he has gotten more attention than he ever did in public school. These nasty reviews by immature and uninformed teens and preteens are a travesty and I hope that parents take them with a grain of salt. Dr. Lustig has integrity and honestly cares for children, and I hope "Talia"'s disgusting remarks above do not tarnish his reputation. This silly girl is clearly prejudiced, ignorant, and angry and I feel sorry for her parents. My child does not and has never hated this school; I for one am not going to keep my child from such a good place because of some vindictive and clearly unhappy people that wish only to make other people as unhappy as they are.

As a former teacher's assistant I must say I am extremely disappointed in EVERYONE who has given this school FALSE/NEGATIVE reviews. The staff has been nothing but helpful to the students. If you are going to leave a negative review that is "truthful" then leave your actual name. Shame on you all for leaving slanderous lies about KOALA and their current staff. If you want to know the truth, this school has been helpful to so many students. This website should be considered unreliable and dangerous as there is no way to confirm identities, refute claims, or even contact the moderator. The staff that is currently there is nothing but kind and professional it is horrible that their "Good Name" is being dragged through the mud. I recommend any parent to go to the school and see if KOALA is a perfect fit for your child. They have been in business for over 10 years for a GOOD reason.-Munica Herron Administrator Edit: Moderators may be reached by using our feedback form.

Talia you are an abomination to the human race. I used to be a student at Koala and had a great experience. You are able to work at your own pace so that means finishing a year of school in half the time if you work hard. Sure if you do nothing and just sit around then you won't get no where but if you work hard you can graduate early and gain a lot of knowledge. I was there and remember a few kids getting suspended for smelling like pot, but there where consequences for their actions. And what you said about Dr. Lusting is mortifying. I have known David Lusting for more than 5 years seance I joined his school and he does nothing but help people and look out for them. He is a good person. Your mind is clouded kid. Just because someone is nice and looks out for people does not mean he's a bad person as you said.

Thank you Koala Learning Center for helping my daughter with her math. She had been struggling with math for years. Now we know who to call for any more tutoring needs.

I agree with Ms M this site should be considered unreliable considering they let two former
Teachers "rave" about this crappy school. You really shouldn't mislead people Koala employees! Ms Darla is as dumb a box of rocks...but still smarter than Arlene and lilly!

Worst school I ever attended. I am now a majoring in Electrical engineering at one of the top colleges in the nation, no thanks to this school. I was enrolled as a child due to "ADHD" but later came to find out the school was a complete scam. I could of taught myself better than the "teachers" at this school. David is a con artist.

I can not believe I was fooled by the LIARS at this school. I feel very ashamed to have signed my child up at this horrible school. It is run very poorly. The office staff is rude, the teachers are uncertified and the students here are rowdy and undisciplined. My child was bullied and begged me to let him work from home. Since the program is all done online I figured it would be ok until my child started failing...I sent him to school only to find out that the teachers rather be on Facebook than sit down and help him. When I found this out I knew I made a TERRIBLE decidion by signing him up to this horrible school. There are definitely other better (and cheaper) private schools out there. Arlene Schack, Lilly Ortiz and "Dr" Dave Lustig...should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!

This is the WORSE school ever. Arlene and Lilly are the rudest people I have ever had to deal with, EVER! There is so security at this school. The worse party is that my child was constantly being bullied and nothing was ever done about it. This is a school with no structure, a place where the students are literally allowed to smoke weed in the back of the school and there is no consequences! I would not recommend this horrible virtual school center to anyone -- not even my worse enemy!

So unprofessional! Now i see why everyone complains about secretary Lilly and Arlene. They are liars and only care about the money and not the kids. The staff are not nice people. The program they use is poor and the teachers have no credentials! I would not recommend this place, my child came home unhappy every day. Enrolling my child here was a big mistake!

Everyone that says this is a bad school is not lying. It wasnt until how fed up I got with this place that I found out I was not the only one upset and unsatisfied with the school! My wife and I just pulled my son out after a terrible year few months. You are going to charge my credit card twice a month continually, even after we point it out to you? REALLY? I wonder if other parents are aware that they are being overcharged! WHAT A CROCK OF SHIIT! If they do not straighten things out I am going to sue their money hungry a$$es! A sham of a tutoring center if ever I saw one.

i am a student at the school right now and i can verify that its true that this school is only about the money. they dont care about us. arlene schack is a ***** to us, everyone hates her, she doesnt help us with anything, she legit only watches tv or shows on her laptop in her messy/smelly office. she's the kind of person that causes all those bad jewish stereotypes aka 'cheap' and 'will steal your food out of the fridge' and has 'dollar signs' in her eyes when parents come in. Lilly ortiz is a condescending crab and no joke she makes fun of the parents that come in here and never smiles, she is a cold-hearted biattch that thinks her shit don't stink, she tries to be a 'tough puerto rican' but instead she comes off as a simple minded person. they get off on making you feel uncomfortable. dave lustig is a CREEP CREEP CREEP! He acts like a ***phile which is why all the students call this place RAPEOLA! everyone is scared and creeped out by him. DONT TAKE YOUR KID HERE! they will not learn anything all they will do is play video games all day, thats what we do because the new teachers dont care because they themselves are taking college classes and use their work time to do their own assignments. what school employs teachers that only have high school degrees? this place is wack, all the kids come in smelling like weed and the only reason arlene doesnt report when they smoke pot in the back of the school is because she probably does it herself too with her nasty cruddy yellow teeth. this school is not safe and they will make it seems all great for the parents but trust me, ur kid will hate this school, we all do.

i went to this school like two years ago. what my mother had read and told me made it seem fun, it was ok at first but then it got sh***y as f**k. Arlene & Lilly did nothing but watch soap operas and what not, Dave did kinda creep me out. the f**king teachers i hated, the first two where ok but they left an more kept coming and going there was always a new teacher after like three weeks. the high school side seemed like all they did was smoke cigarets. its nothing like they make it seem. i was obviously failing because the teachers didn't do s**t so all i did was play games.everyone there is a rude d***he bag.

I am not surprised about the recent reviews of this school. My son has been attending this school for five months and all we have had is problems! In fact, my son's social and scholastic skills have not improved a bit. Since the teaching staff is so fly by night, he never gets much personal attention at all. These nasty reviews are here for a reason. The school is run by monkeys. I hope that parents heed the warning that is being admonished on here. Dr. Lustig has zero integrity and honestly does not care for children, he only cares about the mighty dollar bill. My child hated this school for the short time I had him enrolled; I for one am going to keep my child from such a horrible place because of some vindictive and clearly unhappy people that run this school.

I visited this establishment on 4/11/12 because it is very close to my house and my child will need to bike to school. I read the reviews online and wanted to see for myself if they were just angry parents and kids writing out of rage until I met with the staff. I am giving them a 1 star because of how they treated me. To the secretary, please do not treat me like I am a waste of your time. To the sales lady, please do not act like I am not smart enough to realize that your numbers you quoted me do not add up. I am just really disappointed to find that this place does not excel in customer satisfaction. That is the most important thing any business can do because in the end, this is not a school, it is a business, so the fact that they do not know how to treat a potential customer is just, well, alarming. For the record, I am a doctor neurologist and at my office, though we cater to the care of patients, in the end, we too are a business and if any of my staff members ever behaved the way the staff did at Koala Learning Center I would be absolutely outraged and would replace them quickly for how they represent me.
